Actress Anna Heche died from ‘inhalations and thermal injuries’. This is what emerged from the autopsy report carried out by the Los Angeles County coroner’s office. Heche’s death, according to USA Today, occurred nine days after the actress was pulled out of a burning car and hospitalized in critical condition following an accident in Los Angeles. The coroner’s report also cited a “sternal fracture due to blunt impact trauma” as another “significant condition” that contributed to his death.
The actress, following the accident, had suffered a “severe anoxic brain injury” and fell into a coma, according to a statement that was provided to ‘USA Today’. Heche was later declared “ brain dead ” and her family agreed to pull the plug from her and take her life support at the urging of doctors who explained how most of her organs could still be donated for numerous transplants. The police initially asked for access to the actress’s blood tests because it was suspected that the incident had occurred due to the use of alcohol or drugs.
The tragedy that led to the death of the actress alone 53 years occurred on August 5 last year when the Heche crashed with her car which then caught fire on a house in Mar Vista. Los Angeles firefighters issued a press release claiming that the vehicle had hit a two-story house, causing “structural compromise and explosions in a massive fire” and that the car driver had been taken to hospital. “in critical condition”.
