The CC swim team will attend the American Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Championships Feb. 14-17 in Dallas, Texas.

On Jan. 20, the last dual meet for the year was held at Columbia College and ended in a 119-119 tie with Pfeiffer University from Misenheimer, N.C. The meet ended this year’s season and concluded final preparations for the AAC and NAIA championships.

“Our goal for the championships is to swim the best time,” Jason Gallaher, CC’s swim team coach, said.  “We are pretty confident.”

Junior returner Cassie Adams, first-year Abby Hess and graduating senior Da’Nelle Williams snatched their own Automatic Cut for the AAC championship in their first meet of the fall, Sept. 30. The team consists of 11 swimmers: senior Da’Nelle Williams; juniors- Cassie Adams, Marianne DeWitt; sophomores- Michaela Lemmon, Peatsa Littlejohn, Ariel Prescott; first-years- Ashley Sawyer, Mackenzie Shannon, Tabitha Simonson, Haley Stewart and Alyssa Wallace. All will compete at the AAC Championships.

Sports in season this semester are basketball, indoor track and field, golf, swim, lacrosse, softball and tennis with the last four sports teams slated to attend the AAC Championships  at their respective venues. See the current schedule of games.
