College students operate on a budget, and at some point they go grocery shopping.

Being able to find the best deals for grocery shopping can be difficult, but it’s necessary that college students get the most for their money.

Dollar General and Family Dollar have a special going on involving the chip brand Doritos. The Family Dollar offers them at a deal of two for five dollars. Dollar General offers the same deal, but it includes Lay’s Kettle Cooked Chips or Oven Baked, Sun Chips and Doritos.

Columbia College is in the middle of some stores that have great deals. Dollar General, Family Dollar and Super Dollar are all favorable places to get items, such as toilet paper, paper towels, soap and other toiletries. Those stores are also good for getting snacks or any other light grocery items, such as chips, crackers, cookies and pretzels.

Monee Anderson, first-year sports psychology major, said, “Super Dollar is where I go when I need to pick up bathroom items and other bathroom needs.” Super Dollar is located at 6012 North Main St. The hours of operation are from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Destiny Smith, sophomore biology major,  said, “Food Lion is where I go when I need to get all my groceries and sometimes medical needs.” Food Lion is located at 5118 Fairfield Rd. The hours of operation are from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
