Rome, at the Casilino the programming of 'Summer Slam Park' starts again

After a short break in the week of August, the rich programming of the Summer Slam Park has restarted, the event with free admission and entirely free created by the Metabolica association, in collaboration with Fusolab, in the spaces of the Casilino Sky Park in Viale della Bella Villa 106. Until 18 August the “square that wasn’t there” offers a varied and transversal calendar of cultural events and urban redevelopment, with the aim of weaving and consolidating interactions and participation in the eastern suburbs of Rome. The project, promoted by Roma Capitale – Department of Culture, is the winner of the Public Notice “Estate Romana 2022 – Let’s rekindle the City, Together “curated by the Cultural Activities Department and is created in collaboration with Siae.
In the first half of August, Summer Slam Park has already welcomed thousands of people bringing them closer to both more popular proposals and new genres entertainment. In the last week of programming there will therefore be music, cinema, theater and street art with the aspiration to continue to aggregate citizenship in a shared experience. The many side activities also continue, many of which are dedicated to children. The billboard still offers: evenings of music, theater-song, songwriting and DJ sets with Andrea Rivera, Dj Ceffo, Brusco, Roots in the sky, Area 765, Patrizio Maria and Corry X; the screening of Diabolik for the Cinema sul Tetto review; the street art intervention by a.DNA Collective with live painting by Teddy Killer that will be added to the other permanent works that color and enrich the Casilino Sky Park.
While the Summer Slam Park ends at the end of August, the adventure of the Casilino Sky Park continues, a panoramic terrace of 3. 800 square meters built on the top floor of the parking lot of an unused shopping center and in disuse for years, already inaugurated last May by the mayor Roberto Gualtieri. An urban redevelopment project in the eastern outskirts of the capital where sociality, sport and culture form a single common denominator. A sky park, the first in Rome and one of the first in Europe, where you can spend the day training in the open air gym or on the panoramic running track, play padel or pickleball, watch a show or see a film, play with their children, work in coworking spaces or simply enjoy the breathtaking sunset from a height of 17 meters.
The project will have a reduced environmental impact throughout its life cycle with eco-sustainable installations, solar panel power and a collaboration with Tree-Nation which involves the planting of a tree for each user of the project, in order to offset the CO2 emissions generated by the activities carried out. Summer Slam Park and Casilino Sky Park rekindle life in the neighborhoods, leaving a legacy capable of making the community reflect. Because the city does not change only through concrete and urban planning but also and above all by creating spaces for social interaction.
