The 2018-2019 Columbia College Student Government Association elections are in. Due to inclement weather that closed the school, elections were postponed until all students returned to the campus.

Alexis Hutto, class president for first-year students, and Kennedy Herndon, class vice president for first-year students, are both excited to have been elected to the Student Government Association at Columbia College.

“I wanted to do something that impacts both my and everyone else’s college career,” said Hutto, who answered the question “what made her decide to run for Student Government.” For Herndon, it was challenging herself. “I wanted to do something that would get me out of my comfort zone .”

Both of these young, intelligent ladies have great new ideas to contribute and to better our student life. They are ready to work hard to fight for the needs of the first year students.

Hutto said, “I love to get my hands dirty, work and get involved. If the girls want a change, I will do everything in my power to get that done.”

Kennedy stated that she is a “great listener if anyone wants or needs to talk about anything.” The “door is always open.”

We are excited to see what these young ladies have in store for the first year students.
