Homage to Pasolini, on 28 August , in Piazza della Balena in the San Basilio district with ‘PasolinianaMente’, the show signed by the choreographer and director Monica Casadei for her company Artemis Danza. The show, in which dance is intertwined with Pasolini’s poetry and the atmosphere of the Roman suburbs so dear to the author, is part of the program of the appointments of Periferie Pasoliniane. The Roman stage of this journey into Pasolini’s poetic and cinematographic universe is part of a vast international project, which will bring the show to the stage between the United States, Ethiopia, Korea, Vietnam, India, Turkey and Hungary and will culminate with the debut at the Festival Vis à Vis di Gorizia.

“Pasolini started from the body, his, lean and athletic, and from the hunger for bodies, the one who trusts in all his work, showing lights and shadows – explains the choreographer – Through characters, words and images that populate his works, the Emilian author gives body to his thought, giving it back into a work of art from the different keys of reading. Dance, made up of body and soul, becomes a powerful means to revive her thoughts – adds Monica Casadei – From the mother-woman, pillar of her poetic and cinematographic production, to freedom, from poetry, to Bach’s music, with which creates an artistic partnership, up to the sacredness of the gesture, it will cross healthy texts and visions giving life to a tribute made of tension and redemption, dreams and utopias. A fresco of humanity and its paradoxes that in the past, as in the present, excite and open the gaze to existence “, he concludes.

In Monica Casadei’s choreography there is also the sun of the Roman villages, where life pulsates, children play, young people in colorful clothes dream and fight for their rights. The show, in which dance is intertwined with Pasolini’s poetry and the atmosphere of the Roman suburbs so dear to the author, it is part of the appointments of Periferie Pasoliniane.
