Fans shout at censorship for wide shots on the two
Maneskin takes center stage at Mtv VMas. On the one hand the happiness for the victory of an important international award, on the other the controversy over an alleged TV censorship on their looks. The Roman band, whose international career has now taken off, won the award for ‘Best alternative video’, with the video clip of the song ‘I wanna be your slave’, in an edition dominated by Jack Harlow with 4 awards, followed by Lil Nas X and Taylor Swift with 3 accolades.
“It’s really cool. We didn’t expect to win. There are great artists here, so it’s an honor for us, ”commented the Maneskin, who performed on stage at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, singing ‘Supermodel’ with their now proverbial desecrating charge. And their look did not go unnoticed: Damiano with a pants-thong that left his back uncovered and Victoria with a one-shoulder dress and a nipple covered only by a stud. On social media, fans went wild accusing the demonstration of censorship for wide shots and the public. But in reality some shots of the two were not lacking and even the official MTV account joked about Damiano’s look, publishing an excerpt with a shot from behind and writing: “We saw you”.
Among other awards, that of artist of the year went to Bad Bunny, the award for the song of the year to Billie Eilish for ‘Happier Than Ever’, the one for the best emerging artist at Dove Cameron.
