The Umbrian music festival will start with a preview tomorrow in Perugia and will continue until Sunday 28 August in Castiglione del Lago

A particular look at Genesis, a wink to one of the protagonists of the Canterbury prog scene and of course many Italian notes of the years’ 70. This is how the Trasimeno Prog Festival presents itself, the musical review that for the third time will see the fortress of Castiglione del Lago the protagonist of three evenings: the 26, 27 And 28 August. News of the edition 2022 a preview at the Giardini del Frontone in Perugia on Thursday 25 with the band L’Estate di San Martino. Richard Sinclair, Patrizio Fariselli, Patrick Djivas, The Watch, Bernardo Lanzetti are just some of the musical “gems” that the Umbrian festival will offer in the last week of August. It starts precisely on 25 in Perugia, in the main stage of the Umbria Jazz concerts, with the presentation of the new album by the group entitled Kim.

Friday evening 26, at the medieval fortress of Castiglione del Lago, three formations on stage: Giorgio “Fico” Piazza, historic first bass player of the PFM, who will pay homage to the two records of the Milanese formation that saw him directly involved: “Storia di un minute” and “For a friend”. To follow, the new trio of Caravan bassist Richard Sinclair; the English musician, now Italian by adoption as he has lived in our country for some time, will perform with Angelo Losasso on drums and with Gianluca Milanese on flute. At the end the Odessa, a group from the Marche in permanent service effective since the end of the years’ 90. Saturday 26, the evening for the Genesis: in ‘year in which the English band put an end to their concerts with Phil Collins in formation, it was decided to pay homage to them and to have their music performed by other artists and to talk about them also by presenting publications.

We leave in the afternoon at Palazzo della Corgna, in the Theater Hall, with Francesco Gazzara, his piano and the book, released in December Genesis from A to Z; it will then be the turn of Mino Profumo to present Genesis The Lamb and of the manager / roadie of the English group Richard Mcphail with his work La mia vista con i Genesis. In the evening at the medieval fortress two bands will perform: The Progressive Tales; a project by the Tuscan guitarist Corrado Rossetti who, together with his group, will revisit the first and unknown album of the English quintet From Genesis to revelation; the performance will also include the execution of Italian and international prog classics. Finally, the Milanese band of another Rossetti, this time Simone, The Watch, veterans of sold-out and acclaim throughout Europe, will present the show Plays Genesis (a prog journey 1970/ 1976), with which the most dense period of content for lovers of the genre is reviewed. Day full of events also the closing day, Sunday 26 . We start in the morning with the meeting with Patrizio Fariselli which will be followed by the performance on the shore of the lake, at the Darsena Live Music, by Bernardo Lanzetti. Grand finale at the Rocca del Leone with the concert by Alex Carpani of the Patrizio Fariselli Area Open Project.
